November has been a busy month, between friends coming up for Frisbee tournament, an engagement party for Richard and a weekend away at the Scottish CMF conference helping to look after some sound and data projection.

Sound wise, I remember years ago when brought up in CFC Strandtown walking past the big sound desk with all so many sliders and dials that could be turned, not to mention the flashing lights.  Having been in Ruchill Church and working with Danny on the sound and data projection there, i’ve picked up alot about what those dials and sliders do, and at this CMF weekend I picked up how monitors or the big black speaker like things often seen on the floor pointing towards artists are controlled from the back.  Additionally I can now appreciate how much effort must go on to set up concerts and conferences with sound things, as there were loads of cables and the like which took hours to put out and hours to assemble and pack away.

Apart from sound things, the small matter of a yearbook has been keeping me busy, dare I say even stealing my time.  Between labelling emails to ensure we’ve got all the profiles, profile pictures, and photo submissions to battling with a Macromedia Fireworks &  Picassa3 combination to try and build a few of the graphic and images for it, it has stolen much time.  And at the time of writing, i’m still not 100% happy with the outcome, yet.  Its made all the more tricky as you have to try and appease those who have sent photos in, whilst trying to incorporate as many people in the year.  And some of the areas we were after photos have had very few responses, meaning things may have to be pulled or just wont look as amazing as we’d have liked.  It’ll all be over by the time term breaks up on December 18th, then we can sit back and wait for March and the finished product…
